Savory the Last Drops Summer

New Belgium is always coming up with new, inviting beers, and this summer has been no exception. Here's what our "beer guy," Matt, had to say about three of their newest offerings. Look 'em over, and see which you might fancy for closing out the season in style. Cheers!

Eric's Ale
Wood Aged Sour Peach Ale
2015 Lips of Faith Series

Nose: Malty upfront with tart peach coming through in the end.

Taste: None of the overwhelming tartness one can expect from a typical Sour Beer. Almost more of a Sweet & Tart taste. Oak pairs nicely with the peach flavors.

Finish: Smooth finish with notes of peach that lingers.

Recommendation: Holds true to the description of being "this is a sour beer for those that don't like sour beers"
A good place to start to enjoy the Sour beer family. Grab a Pint the next time you are visiting the Brewery or you can find them in local stores by using the link below.

Long Table Farm House Ale
Saison

Nose: Malty upfront with yeasty goodness on the nose

Taste: Malty fruitiness that transitions to a bit of a spicy zest due to Rye grains. Earthiness throughout and tart apple at the end.

Finish: Smooth bread finish that lingers and invites another sip.

Recommendation: Grab a Pitcher with friends. A perfect beer to help the transition from Summer to Autumn.

Pear Ginger Beer
2015 Lips of Faith Series

Nose: Citrus with a bit of ginger notes

Taste: Not your traditional ginger beer as it lacks a lot of the spiciness. More of a bitter rind wheat flavor with little pear notes throughout.

Finish: Ginger spice does linger after the first taste. Smooth finish with notes of peach that lingers.

Recommendation: It's a shame that I was unable to sync up with our team to try out some of the Ginger Beer recipes found on our site. If mixed right, I could see that this Ginger Beer adding some good flavors to a late summer drink. I would recommend a Taster before jumping in an using this Pear Ginger Beer for your next gathering.
