Wines of the Week: Weeknight Whites

As the spring season begins to emerge out of winter, many of us will look to fill out weekday glass with a nice, affordable white wine. Thus, our tasting panel has come up with a handful of choices that are $15 or less which are sure to please with their value.

The nose brings together vivid citrus aromas with nuances of bell pepper and wild grass. A classic New Zealand profile, as grapefruit, gooseberry, and peach flavors combine with accents of wild grass and minerals. A crisp acidity and good balance of flavors make this wine a good buy for about $15.

The nose invites one in with aromas of limes, apples, blood orange, and flint. Crisp pear, apple and citrus notes blend with honey and mineral whispers on the palate. A fresh acidity frames the wine, and a touch of sweetness makes it quite welcoming. Pair with an Asian stir-fry.
