"Shush" the Summer Heat with these Shandy Slush Cocktails

We're in the midst of summer and the occasion encourages one to sit back and relax, whether it'd be with a refreshing beverage or just a mental refresher. So, to help imbibers cool down, here are two (shandy slush) cocktail recipe. Each slush, made with a Traveler Beer Company Shandy, is sure to refresh guests seeking refuge from the dog days of summer.

Lemon Shush

Servings: 10

Ingredients:
Curious Traveler Lemon Shandy (4 bottles)
1 1/2 quarts of Water
16 oz. of Fresh Lemon Juice

Honey Syrup Ingredients:
1 quarter of Fresh Pineapple
Lemon Zest to taste
20 oz. of Honey
A dash of Bitters
40 oz. of Crushed Ice

Homemadev Honey Syrup Procedures:
1. Muddle fresh pineapple then add lemon zest and honey.

2. Bring to a boil on a stove and bring it to room temperature.

Slush Procedures:
1. Use crushed ice to be broken down as much as possible because the carbonation of the shandy will cause it to separate.

2. Blend till smooth.

3. Combine all ingredients, except shandy.

4. Add the homemade honey syrup, water and lemon juice.

5. While those are blending, add shandy base.

Garnish with a sash of bitters and lemon wedge.

Grapefruit Shush

Servings: 10

Ingredients:
Traveler Grapefruit Shandy (4 bottles)
30 oz. of Grapefruit Juice
12 oz. of Lime Juice
1 1/2 quarts of Water
40 oz. of Crushed Ice
Ruby Red Grapefruit Wedge

Simple Syrup Ingredients: (makes 32 oz.)
Mint Bouquet
16 oz. of Sugar
32 oz. of Water

Mint Simple Syrup Procedures:
1. Combine a bouquet of mint and combine with 2 parts water and 1 part sugar.

2. Bring to a boil and then bring down to room temperature.

Slush Procedures:
1. Use crushed ice to be broken down as much as possible because the carbonation of the shandy will cause it to separate.

2. Blend till smooth. Combine all ingredients (except shandy).

3. Add the mint simple syrup, water and lemon juice.

4. While those are blending, add Shandy.

Garnish with a ruby red grapefruit wedge.
