Our
Favorite (Under the Radar) Wineries & Winemakers
- Part 4 - Wrath Wines
By FBWorld Team
At
Wrath, they are all about place. Their winemaker, Sabrine
Rodems, strives to illuminate the terroir of their vineyards
in all of her wines. Part of that mission has to do with choices
made during production. Sabrine's mantra is to "let the
wine tell you what to do; don't try to tell the wine what to
do." Another important aspect is the manner in which they
take care of the land. Wrath has been working with the Central
Coast Vineyard team to earn a SIP (Sustainability in Practice)
Certification. Holding the certification means that the winery
operates in a fashion which protects and preserves the planet
as well as the surrounding community. It's these great values,
along with the top-notch wines, that makes Wrath one of our
favorite wineries.
Here's
what our tasting panel thought about a few of their currant
releases.

Review:
Aromatics of pear and honeydew mingle with notes of lemon
custard and creamy oak on the nose. A sip delivers flavors
of pear, melon, and citrusy hints that flow into nuances
of vanilla and toast. A rich white that still offers a
bright acidity, if you enjoy balanced Chardonnays, this
is a bottle to try.

A bouquet of citrus fruit, gooseberry, and green pepper
greets the senses. Grapefruit, lime, and gooseberry flavors
are accented by suggestions of bell pepper and minerals
on the palate. A welcoming acidity and bright flavors
make this an ideal wine to enjoy with food. Fans of New
Zealand Sauvignon Blancs should give this bottle a try.

Aromas of cherries, plums, and blackberries meld with
suggestions of minerals, cinnamon, and white pepper on
the nose. Flavors of cherry, boysenberry, and plum unfold
into notes of earth and sweet spice on the palate. Dark
and supple, fans of lush Pinots will enjoy this wine.
