Exploring
the Wines of Dry Creek Valley Part 2
- Kokomo Winery
By FBWorld Team
We
continue our survey of Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley.
(Last week we looked at Dry Creek Vineyard.) This week, we come
to Kokomo Winery. Since their inception in 2004, the winery
has focused on small production, single-vineyard wines from
Sonoma County, which visitors can try for themselves with a
unique tasting experience, as the winery tasting room is incorporated
into their cellar. If you can't make it out to sample their
wines yourself, here's what our panel thought about a few of
their current releases.

Aromas of pear, apricot, and orange peal mingle with a
hint of minerals on the nose. Flavors of apricot and mango
are accented by citrusy notes on the palate. A crisp white
with a bright acidity, it's a fine pick to pair with seafood.

Aromatics of bramble fruit and cherries meld with suggestions
of leather and spice on the nose. The palate delivers
flavors of blackberry and black cherry that come together
with notes of earth, spice, and cocoa. A blend with supple
tannins and lively flavors, fans of more robust reds will
enjoy this bottle. About 1,300 cases were made.
