Review:
On the nose, elements of dried cherries, strawberries, and blackberries play with hints of herbs. A supple palate of dark fruit builds to a finish with lingering notes of cocoa and herbs. An easy going wine with approachable tannins, a portobello mushroom burger would pair nicely.

Review:
There's pear and apple that come together with toasted coconut and butterscotch on the nose. Apples and pears return on the palate, along with butter and toasty vanilla. Fairly round, with a rich, buttery component, if you like that style of Chardonnay, this is a bottle to try.

Review:
Passion fruit, peach, and honeydew intermingle with traces of herbs on the nose. A fruit core of tropical and stone fruits flows into allusions of honey and herbs after a sip. It walks a line between bright and lush and should show well with food. Grilled sole would do nicely.

Year: 2013

Review:
There's lots of apricots, peaches, and oranges on the nose, backed by honey, almonds, and spring flowers. Flavors of stone fruit take shape on the palate wandering into orange blossoms, honey, and nutty elements. A reserved acidity and a friendly round quality make this a good wine to pair with pound cake.
Rating: 86

Very ripe strawberries, cranberries, and grapefruit waft up from a glass. The red berries dominate the palate with the citrus in the background. Ripe with a friendly acidity, it's an ideal bottle for a springtime picnic.

5K 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery: Grateful Grapes
Grape(s): Cabernet

Region: California

Year: 2012

Special Designation: n/a
Farming Certification: n/a
Price: 10-15

Review:
Very ripe cherries, currants, and plums combine with dark chocolate and butterscotch on the nose. Quite smooth on the palate, currant, black cherry, and plum flavors come up first and flow into coffee and chocolate notes. It's a wine soft tannins and a ripe character, so it may not be for serious Cab lovers. But if you like easy going wines, it's worth a try.
