Sustainable Seafood issues will once again be raised at the 2007 Cooking for Solutions conference to be held at the Monterey Bay Aquarium May 18 & 19.

Speakers representing the Who’s Who of non profit and private sector companies will be present to take your knowledge of Sustainable Seafood issues one step further. “Beyond reaching people throughugh public events, we want to take industry professional’s understanding of sustainable seafood issues even deeper,” says Cooking for Solution’s organizer Ken Peterson. A stellar line up of industry professionals will be on hand to present industry concerns and objectives as well as take questions and enter into discussions.

The presence of 13 world wide renowned guest chefs committed to Sustainable issues will give way to a food gala event unmatched by any other. Celebrity Chef Honorees, Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger will be honored for their deep commitment to sustainable seafood, and the event will welcome actor/writer John Cleese as a special guest. Chefs coming from U.S., Canada and Panama will treat you to gourmet organic dishes, lively cooking demonstrations and exclusive food and wine adventures. Don't miss the Sustainable Seafood Challenge featuring four of the guest chefs, with lively commentary as they cook. Each chef will be given a whole array of side dishes and seasonings to match up with and one main ingredient, and they will have one hour to create the dish, all to the viewer’s delight.

Other chefs present will be Michael Cimarusti from Los Angeles based Providence Restaurant, Elena Hernandez of Panama’s National Culinary Academy, Alexandra Guarnaschelli of New York’s Butter Restaurant, Douglas Katz of Cleveland’s Fire, Sam Choy of Sam Choy's Diamond Head Restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii and Keith Froggett of Scaramouche in Toronto, Canada, Allen Susser of Chef Allen’s in Aventura, Florida, and Jesse Cool of Cool Eatz in Menlo Park, California and Charles Pham of San Francisco’s Slanted Door.

Founding Celebrity Chefs John Ash of Fetzer Vineyards and Jim Dodge of Bon Appetite Management Company will of course, be on hand to greet new and returning visitors.

You won’t leave empty handed from this event. Aside from a wealth of resources for your future research, the gala food tasting event of incredible delicacies prepared by these great chefs comes complete with printed recipes.
